Congratulations to MMSC coach, Amro Hassan, who earned five gold medals in the Egyptian National Swimming Championships held in Alexandria, Egypt in June 2010.  Amro competed against approximately 200 other swimmers in a 3k open water swim held in the Mediterranean Sea and finished the race first overall.  In the pool, he finished first in the 50m butterfly and the 50m backstroke, swimming down an age group for his team.  Plus, he brought home two more first place finishes for his part in the freestyle and medley relays.  Congratulations Amro!

MMSC has a new secretary as of March 1, 2010.  Reva Keaton has agreed to take over for Bob Phillips in that capacity.  As you may know, Reva has been assisting the Club with its written documentation, newspaper postings, flyers and photographs.  Now she will also be assisting Amro with the meet and handling membership records.  Reva has had a lifelong love of the water and swimming.  She swam competitively for the Falling Oaks (FOHA) Swim Team from the age of 8 to 18 years old as well as for the Medina High School Swim Team.  She joined Medina Masters in 2008 and has enjoyed being a part of the adult swimming community.

As you may have noticed, MMSC has a new logo.  The logo was designed especially for our club by Stephanie Keaton, a Fashion Design student-athlete at West Virginia University (and Reva’s daughter).  The new unique and modern alligator design with the MMSC lettering can be seen here on our web-site as well as on our new t-shirts.  Thank you, Stephanie!
